Download This For Screen Addiction Help
So during some recent affirmation workshops (email email@example.com if you want me to come through to your school and/or co. btw!) I've been reminded of a necessary + personal definition to wellness that serves me * w a i t f o r i t * well.
lmao I love a corny mid-afternoon snack.
Anyways, here it is:
Wellness isn't about having it all together, but befriending ourselves despite not having it all together.
Nothing really yasssss worthy, just a spoonful of sincerity to steady me throughout this adulting shit and beyond.
With that said, honey, I forgive myself for the moments when I succumb to this damn screen addiction me and a million other scrollers are infected with.
I've been reading that we're on the brink of a smartphone health crisis. According to NPR, heavy users of social media increase their risk of depression by 27%, and teens who spend three hours a day or more on electronic devices are 35% more likely to have a risk factor for suicide.
And when it's not our emotions being hijacked, it for sure is our focus. If you survived this week's kanye mosh pit then you over-stand.
All of that to say, self-inquiry really serves as our greatest of traffic lights. Our intention check-up.
For instance, right as we unconsciously pick up our phone, a simple question with an honest answer can influence whether we pause, pivot, or keep it pushing.
Going back to my definition of wellness, here... if we befriend ourselves then we're in communication with ourselves and if we're in communication with ourselves then we can better inquire about our on-the-fly, impulsive decision-making.
So basically, PEEP THIS NEW (FREE) WALLPAPER I CRAFTED UP FOR US!
from self to self:
WHY AM I REALLY OPENING MY PHONE RIGHT NOW?
will it help or hurt,
be productive or destructive,
create blessings or bullshit?
Activating/Magnifying self-awareness is forever my mission so I hope you find this valuable and if so, forward along to a friend too! Sign up below!
